HOW IT ALL BEAGN
From One Special Dog to Capturing Them All.
I started my journey as a photographer back in the days of film—
when every frame counted and creativity had to be captured in camera.
There were no shortcuts. What you shot was what you got.
And while that foundation taught me discipline and artistry,
I’ll admit—today’s tools have opened up an entirely new world of creative freedom.
Digital photography isn’t necessarily easier, but it allows us to refine in the moment,
correct as we go, and focus more fully on telling a story through the lens.
One day, I looked at our beloved dog Frankie—
a sweet little Puggle (that’s part Beagle, part Pug)—I wanted to capture her essence.
Not just a photo, but a true portrait.
A piece of art that held her personality, her quirks, and her gentle soul.
So I set up a makeshift studio at home and got to work.
When I finally printed the image, I took it to my local framer to have it mounted and framed.
He looked at it, paused, and then told me something unexpected:
“We don’t fully mount original artwork—this is irreplaceable.”
He thought it was a pencil sketch.
That moment stayed with me.
I left with a framed piece I was proud of—and a head full of ideas.
If I could create something so meaningful for myself… I could do the same for others.
That’s how this all began: a deep love for animals, an eye trained by years of experience,
and a desire to create lasting, artistic portraits of the creatures who make our lives whole.
Frankie—our spoiled little love—is still the heartbeat of this studio.
And now, I’m honoured to help other people celebrate their fur family in timeless, soulful images.
You get the picture, the images are created to try and achieve the
true essence of mans best friend.
The look that is your pooches personality will shine through
when he or she decides to share.
